One of the most exciting things about car racing is listening to the driver’s radio on a scanner. The problem is that background noise often drowns out the audio. Until now, there was not a perfect solution for this noise problem.
Unlike traditional audio devices used by motor sports fans, the NoiseBuster Active Noise Reduction (ANR) Earmuff reduces the low frequency noise generated by engines and motors that is prevalent at race tracks. You can still feel like part of the action but you'll also hear every word from the scanner clearly.
What is Active Noise Reduction (ANR)?
NoiseBuster uses a microphone inside the ear cup (1) to listen to noise coming into the ear (2). Using electronics (3), the system takes that information and uses it to create a noise wave that is identical to, but directly opposite of, the one coming into the ear. The "anti-noise" wave is output through a speaker (4), also located in the ear cup. When the two waves (the noise wave and the anti-noise wave) meet, the noise is significantly reduced (5).
